How ’summer’ are these shots? I’m putting these up so you can all visualize yourselves running through a sprinkler, because gosh was it another hot one today! You might recognize her from a previous post or two ;). Such a great, great kid. Her Mama and Dad are the most down to earth, fun parents, and they volunteered to participate in my creative shoot after I had shot her modeling portfolio. Speaking of models…

 

Call For Models:

We are in need of models for a children’s photography workshop I am assisting with on the afternoon of September 13th, 2008 (can you believe we’re planning for Sept already? It was just May!). My lovely friend Cheryl Muhr is traveling to us in Boston to hold The Secret Workshop, and I am coordinating our models for the event. The workshop is for aspiring children’s photographers, and models will participate in the shooting portion of the instruction. All models will be compensated with the resulting images in digital file form (and you or your kids may be photographed by Cheryl herself, which, trust me, is a treat!).

What we are looking for:
Children, babies to teens (1-18).
One family willing to do group family photos (more can participate, but we need at least one!).
One newborn (2 weeks of age or under).

If you know of anyone that will be having a baby close to the workshop date, please let them know about the opportunity. The shooting environment would be extremely safe and clean, and it would be an awesomely unique experience for our workshop attendees to be able to see a newborn shoot.

Your children need not be professional models to apply. If you have worked with me before, please feel free to volunteer! I know many of you had offered to do my July creative shoots, and here’s your chance for more free images. You will need to be available for several hours on the afternoon of September 13th, and be able to travel to a location just outside of Boston for the shoot. Models will supply their own wardrobes. More information will be given as we get closer to the date.

-A current picture of your child and/or family
-Your contact information

…and that’s it! Free images, an afternoon with fun, creative photographers, and the chance for some modeling experience. :) I will post updates as we fill our need for models.

She was a such a happy, happy kid! Full of light and spunk. We shot these at Maudslay estate in Newburyport MA, and while we were walking down to this flower field, she would ask “when are we going to take pictures”? I love a kid who’s ready to take pictures even before we get to the location ;)

We headed down to Plum Island afterwards, where we played chicken with the waves. As you can see, Meili won most of the time.

Meili: 100, Waves: 0.

 

Meili and her little sister, Sienna. S was quite the model, too…in between Meili’s “looks”, when she was changing outfits, Sienna would take her chance and plop right down in front of me and pose, haha. Kids who run towards you and poses? Yes, please!

Meili is with Cameo Kids, and is going to be modeling and acting with them. She’s got ‘it’, that’s for sure!

I hung out with Malia and her brother, Matthew for an afternoon at Fanueil Hall in Boston! Her outfits were spot-on with color, and her mom did a fantastic job in bringing props…the Lollipop was my favorite!

It POURED before our session…I was getting pretty nervous driving into Boston with my windsheild wiper on high! :) Good thing mom brought a super-cool umbrella for a prop:

After the rain…we went puddle jumping!

Matthew’s post will be coming up; I thought each of the kids deserved their own. Isn’t she beautiful?

I bet her mama wasn’t expecting to see images this soon- we ended our shoot at 5pm today! It was a scorcher outside- in the high 90’s, and Ginny was a trooper of a model.

We shot out at Cider Hill Farm in Amesbury, MA- the perfect Orchard setting to compliment her little apple dress.
