A little while ago, I posted about Boston Mamas, the fabulous mama-run Boston blog that has everything from cute clothes to parenting tips! Christine Koh, the owner/writer/parenting guru, contacted me to be a part of their Second Birthday July Giveaway. Maya is a Cameo Kid I got to hang out with yesterday. She giggled, ran, giggled, and ran some more. That was our session, haha! Isn’t she beautiful?

I don’t usually do black and whites, as you know, but I had to see this one as a moody duotone:

Maya’s brother Leo came along for the session, and one Maya took that brown hat off, he promptly put it on and ran around for the rest of the session giggling in it, haha. Nobody could get it off of his head!

Maya’s dad is from Ethiopia, and his family brings back all sorts of beautiful Ethiopian clothing for Maya and Leo. This is a genuine Ethiopian outfit, that Maya’s mom wanted to see her playing those drums in (also from Ethiopia!)! She was belting out “I’ve been working on the railroad”, haha.

Yes, you are correct, that is the cutest baby in the world. This is the owner of the new Kids’ Clothing store “Recess”, located in West Newbury MA,  and her daughter. These images are from a shoot we did to actually decorate the walls of the store. We shot at one of the top Playgrounds in the Northeast- Action Cove, that I have to admit, made me want to drop my camera and slide, swing and climb, haha!

 

These images will be gracing Recess’ walls, displays, and brochures. I’ll give a shout-out when they’re open and all decorated!!

Yes, I know. I’ve gotten many an email with the subject line ”just checking to see when you’ll post next…”. Want to know what my excuse for not posting is? I’ve been off frollicking in Boston conducting shoots- and boy, do I have a backlog of things to post now! I need a Blackberry or a twitter account to keep everyone updated, haha! (In all seriousness..the Blackberry. I think that’s my next purchase. I’m ready to take this internet addiction to a whole new level.)

Speaking of internet obsessions, I went to check my website stats today, and happened to glance at the “Summary”- the log that tells you how many people have visited your site since day one. I made a TV-style double-take…’is that RIGHT?!”: My website has been viewed well over 200,000 times since last July when I launched it, which, had I not been sitting down, would have absolutely floored me. Thank you to everyone who has supported my work over the past year! I would hug and kiss you all if I had more than your IP addresses. :)

I will make an image post later on tonight, since I know this one is woefully devoid of smiling faces and color. I recently completed the shoot for “Recess”, the new kids’ clothing store in West Newbury, MA. We shot at a playground, and I have the cutest images of our little kid models. Recess will be opening the second week of July, and is located in the center of town on Main Street.

Claire is one of Cameo’s newest models. It’s hard to imagine this much personality packed into one little girl, but lo and behold, here’s proof that it’s possible!

I sometimes drop my camera and demonstrate the poses I want kids to do for me (”Like this!”). Can you picture me posing like this next image? Because she mirrored my poses and facial expression perfectly, haha. Check out the second one…cracks me up:

Onto the rest of the session:

Isn’t her hair gorgeous? I’ve never seen such thick, luxurious hair on a four year old!:

 

This was at the end of the session, and Claire was reduced to silly faces and hamming it up. Mom wanted a ‘normal smile’, and turned to me, and said “Watch this.”
