Emptying the Tote Bags: Part 1

Since the ‘baby in a hat’ post, I’ve gotten some emails asking to see what I bring to sessions. It just so happens that I had my baby bags all packed for a session yesterday, so I took some shots of what I usually bring in the pink one. We’ll refer to exhibit A, the Newborn Tote (white) and the Baby/Toddler Tote (pink):

I have travel tote bags for all of my session types, and these ones are from the Bitten line by SJP. You really can’t tell how big they are, but I could literally fit in the white one. Wouldn’t that make a great picture? I will NOT be demonstrating that today, but this gives you a bit of perspective :)  I’ll be emptying the pink one for you today, and let’s just start off with a nice, organized picture of what I bring to a typical baby or toddler shoot:

Oh gosh, did I say organized? Behold, a partial shot of the hat collection. Color, texture, pompoms, stars, and everything in between. Sigh. Makes me so proud. The little purple one with tassles is among my absolute favorites.

And speaking of favorites….

My absolute favorite hat company, La Folie.

But I digress.

Here’s a partial stack of the hats, because you know I have multiple sizes of many of them. A bunch of them are from Lively Kids, the boutique on State Street in Newburyport that I absolutely love. You’ll see more from them…ohhh…right now:

Ruffly baby bloomers. Kills me. From Lively Kids. And…

Little Paul Frank rainboots. If those bloomers didn’t kill you, you’ve gotta be dead after seeing these. But wait, there’s more:

Legwarmers. Baby legwarmers. Oh yes.

And there you have it. The Pink bag on a session day: hats, diaper covers, legwarmers, rainboots, and the cutest little blankets that were sadly in the wash for this shoot. I’ve also got some other surprises in there, but you’ll have to wait for your shoots! The blanket that everything was sitting on, was of course from Dwell. My rainboot collection is slowly growing as well, so I may be showing up with an even bigger pink bag to your houses!

Until next time,

Mariah
